Clare is one of the first full-time staff members at SYSTEMIQ. From 2016 to 2018, Clare served as the Director of Communications for the Business & Sustainable Development Commission, which was created to make the business case for the Global Goals. She is now a member of SYSTEMIQ’s communications team, leading on media and content.
Clare is from New York, where she worked at Columbia University leading media for The Earth Institute, the Journalism School, and Columbia’s environmental stewardship. She was previously a digital health journalist with The Washington Post. Clare holds a BS in Mass Media & Communications from NYU, an MA in International Affairs from The New School, and an MA in Oral History from Columbia University.
Clare has a ravenous appetite for all things non-fiction, particularly about health. Her favourite book is The Coming Plague: Newly Emerging Diseases in a World out of Balance by Laurie Garrett. She can be found in the wee-hours of the night reading the health section of The New York Times.
