Critical raw materials factsheets

15th November,2022 Download

A major shift is underway to a clean energy economy. But this transition depends on raw materials – such as cobalt, nickel and lithium – used in everything from solar panels to electric car batteries… and most of these materials are mined and processed outside Europe.

These factsheets assess eight key raw materials for the energy transition. They consider their production, demand, supply chain characteristics, and risks associated with a business as usual scenario and opportunities in a more circular approach.
