The High-level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy brings together 14 heads of state and governments, supported by an Advisory Group and Expert Panel. The Panel focuses on creating a thriving ocean economy that supports and sustains this vital natural resource. The Panel aims to strike a balance between sustainable economic growth and the regeneration of the ocean, as a way to on the SDGs. The urgency of the Panel’s work is driven by the knowledge that failure to take rapid action on marine pollution, overfishing, climate change and habitat loss will make it impossible for businesses to operate and communities to thrive.

The High Level Panel represents countries from five continents
SYSTEMIQ is delivering the analysis and narrative for the Panel’s report, which will be released at the UN Ocean Conference in June 2020. This report brings together research and analysis from the whole Panel and presents a new narrative and action plan for preserving the oceans while facilitating new business models and activities that support a sustainable, healthy ocean economy.
